Our first outside broadcast of the year was providing music and help to the Slough Fire-Fighter’s Charity Carwash, which was fundraising on behalf of Cancer Charity MacMillan, and the FireFighter’s Charity. In case you didn’t know the FireFighter’s Charity provide world-class support and treatment to serving and retired Fire-Fighters.
Our members had a great day with the Firemen, luckily we didn’t have to clean any cars(!) but rather collecting donations from passer-bys and people in their cars as they were stopped at Tuns Lane traffic lights. We were also waving signs around and generally trying to get people to get their car washed!
Fundraising is vital to Charities so we are always keen to help others, and we were thrilled to hear that the day raised £3,367 and alongside £2,000 from Barclays Bank generated £5,367 smashing last years total amount!
