Two of our Radio Wexham members Anil Patel and Dan Thorn were at the Hard Rock Café in London on 11th of March 7.30pm to witness the 3rd heat of Hard Rock Rising. This is an International Battle of the Bands conducted around the globe in Hard Rock Cafés and backed by ReverbNation!
The night was presented by Absolute Radios own Vicki Blight, with judges from deep within the music industry. All three acts were awesome all in their own ways but only one could progress onto the final heat.
First to arrive on the stage;
Bryony Brooke Performances – Consisting of Bryony Brooke, James Friis-Lawrence and Roger Nunn. With their Modern Folk Rock, that reverberated in my head after they took to the stage and when playing they tugged at the strings of a soul I didn’t know I owned.
On second to make ears prick up;
Plastic Barricades – Consisting of Dan Kert, Daniele Borgato, Frazer James Webster.
These Three blasted sound waves straight from their hearts with their alternative, experimental and powerful rock, superb performance clearly seeing the influence of Oasis.
Last to take the stage and moving on to the next Heat 18th March;
Motorcycle Display Team – Consisting of Steve Hinds, Morgan Condon, Mathew Eyre.
Their performance displayed Rock in many forms but classed themselves under BePop. The Band were rocking it with a clear love of the stage, ranging from alternative rock with a softer side but some serious harder Rock bursting out behind the seams.
This was the semi-finals; the last heat for London’s Hard Rock Café is on the 18th of March 7.30pm. There is only a £3 charitable donation on the door for entry with no need to book tickets or reserve places! Doors open at 7.00pm but you must be 18 or over to attend.
