Back in November, our Radio Wexham team set up our outside broadcasting equipment in Sainsbury’s on the Uxbridge Road. We were there all day from 10am – 5pm; shaking buckets, running a jar of sweets competition, we also had over 200 balloons to give away and they proved to be a no.1 hit with the kids and their parents at the supermarket.
We also took the time to speak with members of the public interested in joining us, getting new volunteers is vital to Radio Wexham, particularly as we have extended our coverage of the hospital and are now visiting more wards than ever. If you are interested in joining us please use the Contact page to find out how to get in touch!
The public also had a great time with our chicken mascot (big thanks to Seamus, Tyler, Abi and Lucy who all donned the costume!) and we kept them entertained by playing lots of good music and some funky tunes.
We were absolutely thrilled that we raised over £600 towards much needed equipment and licencing fees, and we look forward to carrying out similar activities in the future with Sainsbury’s!
We also had a journalist from the Slough Observer come along and take some photos for an article…
Thank you to once again to all our volunteers and the generous members of the public!
